Kim and Anthony travelled extensively and collected an intriguing
variety of artifacts. Each with its own unique story. Since his pass-
ing, she and her children have continued to travel and to collect
artifacts from around the globe.
Kim relates a story of one such trip with her children in Asia, where
they bought an artifact and arranged to have it shipped back to
Canada. When it hadn’t arrived in three months they assumed it
was lost but then, seemingly out of nowhere it appeared. The box
had stamps from all around the world, the name and the address
were wrong but somehow miraculously it found them.
The simple, uncluttered layout of her home and furnishings, allows
Kim’s collections to standout, introducing pops of vibrant colour
and whimsy to the space. The Post World War II Kokeshi Dolls from
Japan shown here are a prime example and are especially notable
in their beauty.
