At the side of the house, Martin has built a
screened porch, which is one of Sandy’s
favourite spots to simply sit and enjoy the
quiet. It looks out on the spring-fed pond
which captured the hearts of Sandy and
Martin the first time they saw it. The bridge
over to the island was the first project they
embraced. “It was a huge challenge,” re-
members Sandy, “But we did it.” It’s quite
a feat of engineering and begs to be
crossed. Surrounded by sunflowers in the
Summer and yellow mums at this time of
year, the island was the setting for Sandy
and Martin’s wedding just this past Sep-
tember. Yes, their labour of love has cre-
ated a home truly filled with love.
