The house has a relaxed atmosphere but with all the
luxuries of upscale living. A new kitchen was added
and is housed in an addition built by Martin. He
worked with skilled cabinetmaker, Robert Anderson.
Appliances were supplied by MacDonalds in
Meaford. The custom copper range hood was fabri-
cated by hand in Denver and the flooring is engineered
7” antiqued Hickory planks with in-floor heat.
A focal point on the main floor is the staircase. The team
of Dunlop & Findlay replaced existing railings and
newel posts using trees found on the property. It adds
stunning interest and whimsy to the rustic nature of this
home and brings the outside in.
Furnishings and decor items have been mainly found
in local shops - keeping to a traditional Lodge-style in-
fluence using all natural materials— wood, stone, antler.
