We have hada fantastic responseat theShelter andour store –people
havebeen commentingon howwonderful it was that the shoot featured
our animals and they can’t get over howwell it workedout (our animals
behaved!!).Our volunteersabsolutely loved to see someof the staff in the
photos aswell. Thepersonal connectionwith people they knewand the
animals they love reallyhit home.Wehavenot receivedanynegative re-
sponse.Ouradoptionshavestayedprettysteady,and I thinkwe’vegained
awareness. We hada steady increase in Facebook fans (I can’t be sure
thatwas theonly reasonbut I’msure it helped!). I know thatourvolunteers
weresnatchingupcopies to take to friends’housesandwehada fewpeo-
ple in theSheltercomment that they saw the shoot. Thankyou for thinking
ofGTHS,we trulyappreciate it.

UGANDANBEADED JEWELLERY - Summer ‘14 issue
Thankyou foryourgenerosity inpromotingour recent fundraiser,Gibraltar
6 hour relay in your Spring issue. The fundraiser was highly successful,
bringing inover$50, 000 forMyFriend'sHouse. Thiswas inpart due to
the coverage by EscarpmentMagazine. Publicity like this is priceless, it
reachespeople thatwecouldn't begin to tryandadvocate to, outsideour
immediate community. With the challenge of having to fundraise over
$180,000eachyear tokeepourdooropenand thephonesanswered for
the women, like the 1,500 who called our emergency shelter last
year...well the fundraisingdollarsareverywell usedandappreciated.
Your supportbypromotingWalkaMile inHerShoes,our fundraisercom-
ing up inOctober, is also verymuch appreciated. This is our signature
event that will havemen, advocating toother men that woman abuse is
wrong. What agreatway to send thatmessage!!Andwhat agreatmag-
azine for helpingus to spread theword!!
OnBehalf of theBoardofDirectors, I sincerely thankyou for your contin-
ued support.
