It shouldn’t have tobecrazyhectic, ohno. I look forward to ‘loggingoff’
andescaping intoquiet—leavingbehindeverythingdigital in favourof
someblissful relaxation, but I alsocrave theunexpected, spontaneous
happenings that Summergivesus.Gatherings that popup ‘just because’,
bike rides that takea twist andendupwho-knows-where, gigglesaround
a fireat night or the simpleact of stoppingeverything suddenly togaze in
aweat anewlyhatchedbutterfly.
Yes, theyhavearrived too. TheMonarchs. Their numbersaredownbut
thanks toagrowingpublicawarenessof theirdifficulties, their food
source isbeginning to replenish.Wewroteabout theirdire situation in
our last issueandmanyof youhave respondedby takingpositiveaction
and likeme, plantedMilkweed. Thankfully, theOntarioGovernment has
removed this vitally important, preciousplant from the“NoxiousWeed”
list—but really—whywas it there in the first place?
As I pedal or jogalongmy favourite roadsand trails, Iwatch for it and
whoopwithdelightwhen I spot some.Clearly, it doesn’t takemuch to
makeme smile. But that’sanother joyof this season. Smiles.
They’reeverywhere.
Weknowwe’ll haveyou smilingasyouperuse this issue.Cyclistswill be
thrilledwithour exclusivenew roadmap, foodieswill eat-upourSummer
