The Orchid has moved into town next to TimHorton’s. The Orchid’s for-
mer location now has a sign stating Steve’s Restaurant is coming soon.
And, the building that once housed medical offices in Thornbury is also
becoming a restaurant! Season Leone’s catering company, Culinary
Designs, is opening on Bruce Street in the former Blossoms and Dew-
drops premises once operated by her mother. Season will have every-
thing you need for dinner without even lifting a finger. Heron Cross
British Tearoom& Bakery has opened on Hurontario. The Harbour Fish
Bar is now open in Cranberry Mews. There’s also a Let’s Eat club
which goes out regularly to enjoy some of our finer dining spots! Per-
haps that’s why all the personal trainers are really busy and cycling
has become one of the premier summer sports in the area.
Elephant Thoughts will be opening in its new location on Highway 26,
the former Catch 22 premises on the July Long Weekend. In addition
to operating a store, the organization conducts a series of education
programmes, and aims to improve social conditions around the world.
The County of Simcoe has committed $500,000 to the South Geor-
gian Bay Campus of Georgian College. Since opening the campus
last year, enrollment has increased significantly. The Georgian Bay
Coastal Route officially opened at the top of Blue in early June. The
route on highways and roads from The BlueMountains to Parry Sound,
Sudbury, Manitoulin Island, Tobermory and back to Owen Sound is
marked by 97 road signs and 27 interpretive signs featuring various
tourist attractions.
