We chose this short section of Bruce Trail because it is a shining exam-
ple of the hard work the Bruce Trail Conservancy and its volunteers
have put into our world famous hiking trail. Originally the trail dipped
and climbed through a series of small valleys from the main tract of the
Loree Forest all the way to the 90-degree turn where Grey Road 21
turns into the 4th Line. When a portion of the trail was closed due to a
landowner’s request, the Bruce Trail Conservancy stepped up and cre-
ated a new and even better trail to the North. This new route wasn’t
without its obstacles however, and a steep stairway had to be built on
the banks of a small creek. Now instead of having to walk a stretch on
Grey Road 21, we can enjoy the serenity of the woods all the way
from the Loree Forest to the top of Blue Mountain.
