KimWharin and Kelly Kerr share a passion for all things equestrian,
so when they heard that Barb Anderson from The Tack Shoppe in Nottawa
was retiring, they jumped at the chance to purchase the business. Committed to servicing Barb’s loyal clientele while build-
ing the business, Kim and Kelly tend the store along with Kim’s daughter Megan, who is in her second year at the University
of Guelph. Megan was instrumental in setting up the store and Kim and Kelly cannot wait to have her back during Christmas.
The Tack Shoppe is dedicated to both the horse and rider and carries a full selection of tack, blankets, pads, sprays, sham-
poo, horse supplements and first aid. They are also moving into the western market in order to meet the needs of the western
riders in the area, carrying lines like Professional’s Choice which is known for technical and medical horse boots and
saddle pads for western and English riders.
The Tack Shoppe offers modern, technical, on-trend clothing that breathes, wicks away sweat and moves with the rider.
They also offer a fabulous selection of non-riding fashion –check them out in our Escarpment Fashion pages! Kelly and
Kim practice conscientious retailing by stocking philanthropic lines like Cowgirls for a Cause, who support organizations
that rescue horses and dogs, and Alp-n-Rock, who donate 10% of profits to girl’s scholarships in developing countries. The
Tack Shoppe is committed to providing the safest and most advanced helmets, vests and other safety gear, stocking items
from Kep Italia and Tipperary; companies that are leading edge on safety and design.
The Tack Shoppe is located at 4174 Grey Road 124 in Nottawa and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10-6,
Saturday 10-5, and Sunday 11-4
