Fall 2012
Escarpment Magazine
This is one of the longer hikes we’ve featured, but the trail is rela-
tively easy and travel is quick. Following the ancient shoreline, the
main tract of the Bruce Trail skirts its way along the top of a small
cliff line. Openings in the forest provide vistas of the lower Beaver
Valley and positioned on the eastern slope, this trail is bathed in sun
all afternoon. Farm fields with their brown cut off stocks signal the
end of the harvest season. Moving into the holidays this section of
Bruce Trail will transform. Gone will be the colourful leaves and with
any luck they will be replace with a soft white and hopefully very
deep blanket of snow.
If you want to continue North along the trail, you can view that sec-
tion of the Bruce on our website escarpmentmagazine.ca. Scroll
over the Bruce Trail drop down and select “Indian Brook”. And be
sure to look out for the 27
th
Edition of the Bruce Trail Conservancy’s
Reference Guide, available now.
