“After travelling through BC and the western USA and seeing
howbeautiful andmajestic log homes were I was hooked." His
first model homewas built inWasaga Beach and by 1996 the
company had built 15 log homes and in 1997 our first log
home was built in the USA.
Logs are sourced fromOntario suppliers who practice sustain-
able forestry. “We use eastern white pine because of its excel-
lent log building characteristics – it’s a very stable wood, is
decay resistant, and shrinks about half the amount of other
pines, spruces & firs.”
All the log homes are handcrafted in their Collingwood factory.
Legendary Logcrafters Ltd. also offer Post & Beam/Timber
Frame home construction using their Hybrid Building System.
Similar to the log product, all the homes’ components are pre-
fabricated in the Collingwood factory. Hybrid homes are also
installed in 2-3 days and closed with weather with the excep-
tion of roof shingles. Go to

more details about this product.
Milan proudly adds, “We also have an eco-culture and take
an environmental approach to all of our building practices –
fromdesigning homes tomaximizing solar gain to using natural
materials to create a healthy living environment, which you
can’t helpwith log building, toworkingwith suppliers who also
have greenworking practices. We also remanufacture excess
material into other products and any residual wood is made
available to the local community free of charge for use as fire
wood or as material for pieces of art for example.”
